San Diego Comic Con 2017 – Saturday– Pictures

On Saturday, July 22, 2017 I went for my second and final day to this years San Diego Comic Con. There were quite a few celebrity sightings to be had today and a 12 hour day of enjoying the con and baking in the hot summer sun. The only celeb I saw and didn’t take a picture of was Stan Lee, because as soon as I took a camera out, they put a big tarp in front of his booth.

San Diego – the most beautiful city in the world. Check out these people camping outside for Hall H. Oh wait, this is just a homeless camp near Petco Park.
I was able to park near the convention center today! No walking a mile through the mean streets of Diego to nerd out.
I don’t normally care about cars or vehicles, but this one was pretty impressive.
Look at these 4 baby turtles enjoying Pizza and pork rinds. Pizza Pizza. DOM & NO’s – very clever.
This is a very realistic figure of Michelangelo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie (the good one from the 90’s).
This crazy looking Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Dimension X Collection is still pending approval – looks pretty cool though.
Coming Quarter 4 2017, this canister of Mutagen will be on sale so you can mutate your pets and other small creatures to help destroy those pesky turtles.
This is probably the best Casey Jones mask I’ve seen to date. Maybe someone should wear this and clean up the streets from all those homeless camps.
It’s The Terminator (T-800) but without the horrible politics or the bastard son from a house maid.
This is a LEGO creation of PIkachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle – the starter Pokemon with very cool lighting effects within the LEGO pieces.
A better picture of Pikachu the Pokemon in LEGO form.
This Gremlin is creepy AF. I dig it.
Not the best photo, but as I was passing by Steven Spielberg was doing autograph signings for the movie “Ready Player One”. Neat. He’s the one wearing a hat.
A TMNT action figure prototype. Some sort of prehistoric versions of them. If you haven’t noticed yet – I like turtles.
This guy digs America. For some reason he was by himself in front of Garage doors (back of convention center) in a full getup waving the American Flag.
No one gave me a free ride today. I had to walk around like a feral cat in the heat.
It’s a giant Rick head from Rick and Morty peering above the trees.
These lunatics were actually waiting for Hall H at 12pm – for the next day…. Didn’t anyone tell them the panel is instantly available online and there is more to do in the Con then wait in line? Oh well, sucks for them.
Another view of the festivities from behind the convention center. I’m Tiny Rick! Woo.
TBS doing some interesting advertising for ‘Wrecked’ right on the water. Very beautiful day it was.
Looks like a new X-Men related series is on it’s way to TV. Hope it’s good. They were doing Mutant X Gene screenings there and incinerating the bodies of those with the X gene present. I opted not to get tested.
This was taken on the bridge overlooking the convention center. Not a cloud in the sky.
Across the bridge was another set of actives going on. I saw the crowds and decided this picture was as close as I needed to get to the area.
Got a photo op for the A&E show ‘Knightfall’. My outfit is on point. These guys must have been super hot in those costumes.
It felt like high school prom with everyone circled around the good dancers watching them do their thing. I certainly wouldn’t be doing these moves on pavement; not that I could do these moves anywhere else.
This guy from the Howard Stern show was trolling the religious protesters with vulgar signs. Bababooey!
Original Wonder Woman outfit that was used in the Justice League movie. God, I love Gal Gadot.
I was walking by and instantly recognized Simpsons and Futurama creator Matt Groening at the Bongo Comics booth.
Stopped by the Hyatt for a little bit. All the neighboring hotels have things going on.
Took a picture of some Cosplayers. They are fans of Game of Thrones I think. Rest in Peace Khal Drogo.
Another celeb sighting. Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane was doing signings for some new project he’s starring in.
I love this picture. A massive wall of metal die-cast figures that is attention-grabbing and unique looking.
Checked out a lot of Futurama original production sketches and picked one up for my broski.
I searched online for 15 minutes trying to find this damn robots name but can’t. So we’ll just say this is a grown up version of BB-8 with his friends. This puppetry was more like wizardry.
This is a big dog hanging outside the convention center dressed as Alice from Alice and Wonderland. Dogs are awesome.
I went to a Brony Panel (Adult fans of My Little Pony – Gen 4). We discussed bronyism. It was interesting. The panelists are industry insiders who have Pony Con affiliations. One guy was from the Netflix Brony documentary and another was from the popular site Esquaria Daily.
The day is coming to an end for me.
Well made Legend of Zelda : Breath of the WIld cosplay. I thought Link was a boy? Breaking stereotypes and gender boundaries here at SDCC.
Super creepy. They were advertising the new movie/remake/reboot for “IT” (you know, the clown movie) with short girls in raincoats holding a single red balloon. You’ll float too…… They would walk by themselves in a slow manner or hang out in dark corners.
I somehow made my way into a private party at a local bar in downtown SD. The Knotty Barrel. They had a Hearthstone event going on and I got free drinks and tater tots. SCORE!!!
Met up with some friends who were embarrassed by my outfit but they dealt with it. Finishing off my con experience with good friends and drinks. Cheers to a great time!
